I’m Just a Soul Whose Intentions Are Good (5/07/2015)

In 2015, I wrote a quick comment when this Tactics’ piece was published:

“Another stellar post from Tactics…be sure to listen closely to the words of the song. Let me guess…the members of the band, appropriately named The Animals (Wolves?) are: Bob Scott, lead singer; Ron Zarou, guitar and back-up; Steve Gardner, guitar and back-up; Jeff Heglund, keyboard or drums (does it really matter?) and back-up; and Rob Hendrickson, drums or keyboard (really! Does it matter??) and back-up. GROSS! Great post, Tactics!! #exposecalvarytemple Let me guess…the groupies are Greer Scott and Kimberly Heglund…very GROSS!”

Michelle Freeman, FB, 2015

Just a quick note, I feel compelled to say that while we should know by now who Bob Scott is (Calvary Temple Cult leader), you may not know who the other people are that I named in my 2015 comment.

They are as follows:

Ron Zarou – Calvary Temple (CT) “pastor” who usually stays in Kenya, Africa.

Steve Gardner – Long-time CT “pastor”

Jeff Heglund – CT Youth and Young Adult “pastor”

Rob Hendrickson – CT “pastor” who usually stays in Kenya, Africa

Greer Scott – “Child Bride” of Bob Scott, CT Cult Leader

Kimberly Heglund – Bob Scott’s daughter, and Jeff Heglund’s wife

As in my, and Tactics’ last post, the link to The Animals video is broken. We are not sure if this is the link that Tactics included, but it’s as good as any:

The lyrics to this song are:

Baby, do you understand me now – Sometimes I feel a little mad – But don’t you know that no one alive – Can always be an angel – When things go wrong I seem to be bad – But I’m just a soul whose intentions are good – Oh Lord, please don’t let me be misunderstood

Baby, sometimes I’m so carefree-  With a joy that’s hard to hide – And sometimes it seems that all I have do is worry – Then you’re bound to see my other side – But I’m just a soul whose intentions are good – Oh Lord, please don’t let me be misunderstood

If I seem edgy I want you to know – That I never mean to take it out on you – Life has its problems and I get my share – And that’s one thing I never meant to do – Because I love you – Oh, Oh baby don’t you know I’m human – Have thoughts like any other one – Sometimes I find myself long regretting – Some foolish thing some little simple thing I’ve done

But I’m just a soul whose intentions are good – Oh Lord, please don’t let me be misunderstood – Yes, I’m just a soul whose intentions are good – Oh Lord, please don’t let me be misunderstood – Yes, I’m just a soul whose intentions are good – Oh Lord, please don’t let me be misunderstood

Writer(s): Marcus Sol, Benjamin Bennie, Caldwell Gloria

Like, “Just Runnin’ Scared,” Tactics used only a video and Scripture in this post, too:

But God says, “Or despisest thou the riches of his goodness and forbearance and longsuffering; not knowing that the goodness of God leadeth thee to repentance? But after thy hardness and impenitent heart treasurest up unto thyself wrath against the day of wrath and revelation of the righteous judgment of God; Who will render to every man according to his deeds” (Romans 2:4-6). “In the day when God shall judge the secrets of men by Jesus Christ according to my gospel” (Romans 2:16). “And art confident that thou thyself art a guide of the blind, a light of them which are in darkness, An instructor of the foolish, a teacher of babes, which hast the form of knowledge and of the truth in the law. Thou therefore which teachest another, teachest thou not thyself? thou that preachest a man should not steal, dost thou steal? Thou that sayest a man should not commit adultery, dost thou commit adultery? thou that abhorrest idols, dost thou commit sacrilege? Thou that makest thy boast of the law, through breaking the law dishonourest thou God? For the name of God is blasphemed among the Gentiles through you, as it is written” (Romans 2:19-24).

Fast-forward to today, if you’ve stayed with me up until this point, what I really want to say about this piece is that Tactics’ completely gets Bob Scott. Remember, Bob Scott has been accused of many awful things – first and foremost, running and operating a known authoritative and abusive cult that destroys lives and familiesincluding the most egregious charge being that his own son has accused him of child sexual assault/molestation of his two young nieces.

Bob Scott would have you believe that he loves all of us. That what he does, he does because he says that’s what the Bible says to do. He would also want you to believe that he has your best interests in mind – that his intentions are always good. You are supposed to believe him, even though he will say that the road to Hell is paved with good intentions. He will say that your good intentions are not good enough. He will say that he’s been “misunderstood.” That’s he’s fine with everything he’s done – why aren’t we?  That he’s been forgiven for his “past” by God. That he’s human, too. That his cruel treatment of us all is cloaked in “love.”

Right, Bob?

Before you say anything, I understand God’s Grace and Forgiveness. I pray that Bob Scott will stand up and be a man and ask for forgiveness – publicly – for what he’s done to most likely thousands of people – publicly.

But my point is – Bob Scott wants to be treated differently… with grace and love – then he treats YOU.

Pathetic. That’s my response. That’s what I say. Pathetic.

Here we are in January 2022, and Bob Scott has not changed one bit. Not one iota. He is still wielding the Word of God as a weapon to beat his congregants over the head.

Words, Bob. They have the power to hurt, and the power to heal. At times I still listen to your drivel, and more often than not, your words are harsh, condemning, and vindictive. And you still don’t apply any of this to yourself.

Misunderstood, my eye.

But God! I’m gonna keep saying this, Bob: read Ezekiel 34.

In the meantime, to all: stay away from Calvary Temple. No matter where Bob’s poisonous rhetoric is preached from – Sterling, VA; Crofton, MD; Buffalo, NY; Kenya, Africa. Make no mistake. The message is the same. The resulting damage is, too. Calvary Temple is a known abusive and authoritative cult. Members in several locations are part of active investigations into many forms of abuse including child sexual abuse. Do a quick Google search. Read my VIP LINKS and VIP DOCS pages. Whatever you do, DO NOT step foot onto a Calvary Temple property.

    1. Oh, don’t you worry. I certainly could have picked Waleed Zarou, along with too many others, to play in Bob Scott’s Wolf Band in this particular MCTTBC. No particular reason to have chosen these five back in 2015. They are all wolves, though, to be sure. Thanks for your comment.
